H.E. Abdulla Ahmed Al HabbaiChairman
Abdulla Al Habbai is the Chairman of Dubai Holding. In his role as Chairman of Dubai Holding, Al Habbai will drive Dubai Holding investments in projects and initiatives that will deliver new creative, infrastructural and technological excellence, and add value to the knowledge-based economy, in line with the UAE’s ambitious growth plans.
He is also the Group Chairman of Meraas and Chief Executive Officer of the Engineering Office – The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, a post he has held since 2004.
Abdulla Al Habbai has more than 25 years of experience in the property and real estate sector. He was also mandated by Dubai Municipality, where he spent 18 years of his career, to oversee and translate the Emirate’s vision for Urban Planning.
In addition to his capacities at Dubai Holding, Meraas and the Engineering Office– The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Al Habbai is also the Chairman of Dubai Parks and Resorts, Dubai Hills and Valiant Healthcare. He additionally serves as the Deputy Chairman of Rove Hospitality.
Abdulla Al Habbai is a board member of several leading private and government entities in Dubai, including Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) and Museum of the Future. Abdulla Al Habbai is also the CEO of Shamal.
Amit KaushalCHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Amit Kaushal is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding, where he is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial and financial strategy for the overall Group.
Amit was the Senior Vice President of Funding & Treasury Management at Meraas, a Dubai based holding conglomerate. Amit was responsible for the Funding, Treasury, Strategic Capital and Corporate Finance businesses. As part of his role Amit is also on the Board of Al Seef, a company operating a mixed use real estate development (hospitality, retail and food and beverage) in the Dubai creek area.
Amit has extensive experience in Investment Banking, joining Meraas from Goldman Sachs where he worked in the Investment Banking Division and having also worked at UBS and Deutsche Bank, both in London and Dubai.
Amit has held several roles as a specialist and in structured lending, derivatives and private equity, focused largely on developing markets and has helped raise investment capital across several regions including the GCC and Central and Eastern Europe.
Amit is a British national, schooled and raised in Kenya before attending university in the UK.
He holds a Masters of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a BSc (First Class Hons) in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick.
Edward SunnaCHIEF LEGAL OFFICER
Edward holds the position of Chief Legal Officer at Dubai Holding. Edward founded the legal function of the Meraas Group where he is the Chief Legal Officer and also the General Legal Advisor at the Engineering Office – The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, a post he has held since 2008.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in legal practice and strategy in the areas of construction, engineering, utilities, infrastructure, real estate development, corporate, commercial, capital markets, banking and finance, cross border transactions and arbitration.
Prior to moving in‐house, Edward led Al Tamimi & Company’s construction law practice and acted for various government institutions and publicly listed corporations both locally and internationally; and was internationally rated during his time in private practice.
He is a Chartered Arbitrator and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; he is on the panel of some of the leading arbitration centres including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the LCIA‐ DIFC Arbitration Centre, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Edward is a former part‐time member of staff at Heriot‐Watt University, Dubai Campus; he is an Advisor with the Dubai Real Estate Institute and the author of numerous publications. He also lectures for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Edward Sunna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Honours and Industrial Relations from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He also has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, and is admitted as a barrister of the High Court of Australia and admitted as a legal practitioner of the DIFC Courts in Dubai.
Nasser Al AwadhiCHIEF HUMAN CAPITAL OFFICER
Nasser Al Awadhi is Group Chief Human Capital Officer at Dubai Holding, a major investment conglomerate based in Dubai, UAE with operations in 14 countries and employing over 22,000 people.
He oversees the implementation of Dubai Holding’s Human Capital governance framework, strategy and policies across the Group. Leadership development is at the helm of his responsibilities, which includes developing and implementing executive training programmes, succession planning and leadership incentive programme.
Al Awadhi has nearly 20 years of experience in Human Capital Management. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Al Awadhi held several senior positions, the most recent being Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Education, preceded by stints at TECOM Investments; Tamweel LLC; EPPCO; and Dubai Municipality.
Al Awadhi is a member of the board Jumeirah Group. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, USA and is a graduate of INSEAD’s International Directors Program.
Yousuf Al MullaCHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER
Al Mulla has been the Chief Strategy Officer at Dubai Holding since 2012. His responsibilities include supporting the company’s long-term investment strategy and overseeing the enterprise value targets. The key focus areas under his supervision include governance, leadership and strategy. Evaluating Dubai Holding’s risk appetite, portfolio management and target setting are amongst his responsibilities. He is also in charge of creating and sustaining a strategic management governance model, organisational design and strengthening related skills and competencies in the company and its companies.
Al Mulla is a senior executive specialised in corporate strategy, operations and corporate finance. He brings a wealth of experience from his entrepreneurial background and government roles and has contributed to the development of Dubai’s strategic vision.
Al Mulla was one of the founding members of TCO Management Consulting, the management consulting company initiated by the Dubai government and previously known as the Consulting Office. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2010, following his position as Head of Strategy, Business Development and Alliances. He also advised senior leadership in the Dubai government and the UAE federal government on high-level strategic projects.
In his former capacity as Associate Project Manager of the Government Innovation and Development Unit at the Executive Office, from 2006 to 2007, Al Mulla was in charge of developing and implementing efficiency programmes across a wide range of government departments, as well as setting an educational endowment fund. Additionally, he had a significant contribution to the development of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, and the establishment of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. His other achievements at the Executive Office included advising the Minor Affairs Foundation on their investment policy.
Al Mulla’s previous experience included his advisory and operational role with Dubai Autodrome to setup the business and organise the 1st international track motor race in Dubai, from 2004 to 2006. He also worked with his family to setup and manage Mayfair Hotels Management from 2003 to 2005.
Al Mulla holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD, Masters in Public Administration from Lee Kuan School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and a BSc in Business Administration with concentration in Corporate Finance from Marshall Business School at University of Southern California.
Khalid Al MalikCHIEF REAL ESTATE OFFICER
Khalid Al Malik is the Chief Real Estate Officer at Dubai Holding, where he leads the development of strategic projects and lends expertise to key real estate projects within Dubai Holding subsidiaries.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding in 2014, Mr. Al Malik was Group Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Properties Group (DPG), where he was responsible for directing delivery, growth and operations strategies.
In the past, Al Malik held a number of Dubai Government positions including Director of Operations at the Dubai Development and Investment Authority, where he spearheaded the Dubai Government Excellence Program Committee. He has been a board member in several organisations such as Arady Developments, Empower, Emaar Bawadi and Dubai Properties Group.
Mr. Al Malik holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, with a double major in Management Information Systems and Production and Operations Management. He also has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Zayed University in the UAE. He is a graduate of the Government Leaders’ Program, a component of the Mohammed bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development.
Abdulrahman Al HarebCHIEF INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER
Abdulrahman Al Hareb is the Chief Internal Audit Officer at Dubai Holding and is responsible for managing, planning and supervising the annual Dubai Holding Audit, overall risk assessment, and internal control structure and corporate governance evaluation. Al Hareb also oversees the auditing of all Dubai Holding companies.
In addition to his responsibilities at Dubai Holding, Al Hareb is the Chairman of Board of Gulf Finance and Chairman of Dubai AeroSpace Enterprise Audit Committee. He is also a board member of Emaar Properties, Emaar Malls and Awqaf & Minors Affairs Foundation.
Al Hareb has over twenty years of experience in audit, risk management and banking. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Al Hareb has held various senior positions in National Bank of Dubai and Financial Audit Department – Government of Dubai. Most recently, Al Hareb has been the Chairman of Board at Oman National Investment Corporation Holding, as well as a board member of StandardAero US. In the past, Al Hareb was the Vice President - Internal Audit at Dubai Islamic Bank.
Huda BuhumaidCHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
Huda Buhumaid joined Dubai Holding in 2006, responsible for the conglomerate’s branding, marketing, corporate communications, public relations and CSR.
Over the last few years, Buhumaid has successfully launched several strategic projects both at the Corporate and portfolio companies which won many awards.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding Corporate Office, Buhumaid was Managing Director – Marketing & Communications, Dubai Group. She oversaw the marketing and communications strategies for Dubai Group subsidiaries in various international markets. Buhumaid successfully developed and launched new brand identities for companies such as Borse Dubai, Emirates Investment Authority, as well as re-branding Dubai International Financial Exchange into NASDAQ Dubai.
Previously, Buhumaid worked with Citibank UAE quickly moving the ranks from Marketing Manager – Credit Cards to Assistant Vice President – Marketing and Business Development. At Citibank, Buhumaid launched several “first” initiatives, including the internet and mobile banking service, which received several advertising recognitions.
Buhumaid is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Programme, INSEAD, UAE, holds a master’s degree in Organisational Excellence with Honours from Bradford University, UK and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai.
Buhumaid is a board member at Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Dubai Women's Establishment and Uptown School Advisory Board. Previously was the Vice Chair for Dubai First, a consumer finance company and the Middle East Public Relations Association, she also served on the boards of TECOM Group and Khaleej Times.
Mohamed SabahCHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
Mohamed Sabah assumed the role as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Dubai Holding in August 2016 to oversee Information Technology operations and support services for more than 22,000 staff.
A Dubai Holding veteran, Sabah previously served as CIO of TECOM Group (TECOM), a Dubai Holding company. During his tenure at TECOM, Sabah was responsible for rolling out company’s leading-edge IT infrastructure, allowing the Group to scale up its capacity and foster future business growth. Sabah also successfully streamlined the company’s internal technology infrastructure to enhance the Group’s efficiency.
Prior to joining TECOM Group, Sabah Executive Director of Information Security & Networks Services at Dubai Holding, where he built the Information Security Department and established the Network Services Department. With more than two decades of experience, majority of which is at Dubai Holding and its companies, Mohamed has gained unparalleled knowledge and expertise in developing mission-critical technology solutions, while managing budget controls to deliver bottom line savings and enable overall growth.
Mohamed holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Leeds Metropolitan University, along with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Hult International Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.
