H.E. Abdulla Ahmed Al HabbaiChairman
Abdulla Al Habbai is the Chairman of Dubai Holding. In his role as Chairman of Dubai Holding, Al Habbai will drive Dubai Holding investments in projects and initiatives that will deliver new creative, infrastructural and technological excellence, and add value to the knowledge-based economy, in line with the UAE’s ambitious growth plans.
He is also the Group Chairman of Meraas and Chairman of the Engineering Office – The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Abdulla Al Habbai has more than 25 years of experience in the property and real estate sector. He was also mandated by Dubai Municipality, where he spent 18 years of his career, to oversee and translate the Emirate’s vision for Urban Planning.
Abdulla Al Habbai is a board member of several leading private and government entities in Dubai, including Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) and Museum of the Future. Abdulla Al Habbai is also the CEO of Shamal.
Amit KaushalCHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Amit Kaushal is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding, where he is responsible for developing and implementing the commercial and financial strategy for the overall Group.
Amit was the Chief Operating Officer at Meraas Holding LLC, a Dubai based holding conglomerate. Amit also held the position of Chief Financial & Investment Officer during his tenure at Meraas and was responsible for the Funding, Treasury, Strategic Capital and Corporate Finance businesses. Amit is also on the Board of Marsa Al Seef LLC.
Amit has extensive experience in Investment Banking, joining Meraas from Goldman Sachs where he worked in the Investment Banking Division and having also worked at UBS and Deutsche Bank, both in London and Dubai.
Amit has held several roles as a specialist and in structured lending, derivatives and private equity, focused largely on developing markets and has helped raise investment capital across several regions including the GCC and Central and Eastern Europe.
Amit is a British national, schooled and raised in Kenya before attending university in the UK.
He holds a Masters of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a BSc (First Class Hons) in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick.
Khalid Al MalikMANAGING DIRECTOR
Khalid Al Malik is the Managing Director of Dubai Holding, where he leads the real estate portfolio including urban planning and infrastructure strategy and development, as well as overseeing the land bank – one of the Emirate’s largest. He is also responsible for the company’s international real estate investments in places such as Malta, Kochi, and Morocco as well as managing its strategic relations with local and international investors, and its government affairs.
Al Malik also lends his expertise to key real estate projects within Dubai Holding’s subsidiaries, where he also serves as Dubai Properties’ Chief Executive Officer.
In the past, Al Malik has held a number of key positions within the Dubai government and private sector, including Director of Operations at the Dubai Development and Investment Authority, CEO of Dubai Industrial City and CEO of Tatweer.
He is currently on the board of several organizations including SmartCity Malta, SmartCity Kochi, Empower, Noor Bank, Dubai Creek Harbor, UAE International Investment Council, and is also a member of the Dubai Council for the Future Cities.
Al Malik holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, USA, with a double major in Management Information Systems and Production and Operations Management. He also has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Zayed University, UAE. He is a graduate of the Government Leaders’ Program, a component of the Mohammed bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development.
Abdulrahman Al HarebCHIEF INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICER
Abdulrahman Al Hareb is the Chief Internal Audit Officer at Dubai Holding and is responsible for managing, planning and supervising the annual Dubai Holding Audit, overall risk assessment, and internal control structure and corporate governance evaluation. Al Hareb also oversees the auditing of all Dubai Holding companies.
In addition to his responsibilities at Dubai Holding, Al Hareb is the Chairman of Board of Gulf Finance and Chairman of Dubai AeroSpace Enterprise Audit Committee. He is also a board member of Emaar Properties, Emaar Malls and Awqaf & Minors Affairs Foundation.
Al Hareb has over twenty years of experience in audit, risk management and banking. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Al Hareb has held various senior positions in National Bank of Dubai and Financial Audit Department – Government of Dubai. Most recently, Al Hareb has been the Chairman of Board at Oman National Investment Corporation Holding, as well as a board member of StandardAero US. In the past, Al Hareb was the Vice President - Internal Audit at Dubai Islamic Bank.
Edward SunnaCHIEF LEGAL OFFICER
Edward holds the position of Chief Legal Officer at Dubai Holding. Edward founded the legal function of the Meraas Group where he is the Chief Legal Officer and also the General Legal Advisor at the Engineering Office – The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, a post he has held since 2008.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in legal practice and strategy in the areas of construction, engineering, utilities, infrastructure, real estate development, corporate, commercial, capital markets, banking and finance, cross border transactions and arbitration.
Prior to moving in‐house, Edward led Al Tamimi & Company’s construction law practice and acted for various government institutions and publicly listed corporations both locally and internationally; and was internationally rated during his time in private practice.
He is a Chartered Arbitrator and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; he is on the panel of some of the leading arbitration centres including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the LCIA‐ DIFC Arbitration Centre, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Edward is a former part‐time member of staff at Heriot‐Watt University, Dubai Campus; he is an Advisor with the Dubai Real Estate Institute and the author of numerous publications. He also lectures for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Edward Sunna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Honours and Industrial Relations from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He also has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, and is admitted as a barrister of the High Court of Australia and admitted as a legal practitioner of the DIFC Courts in Dubai.
Huda BuhumaidCHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
Huda Buhumaid is Dubai Holding’s Chief Marketing Officer, with responsibility for the conglomerate’s branding, marketing, corporate communications, public relations and corporate social responsibility.
Since joining Dubai Holding in 2006, Buhumaid has successfully launched several strategic projects both at the corporate office level and at its portfolio companies, which have received numerous national and international awards.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding’s Corporate Office, Buhumaid was Managing Director – Marketing & Communications at Dubai Group, where she oversaw the marketing and communications strategies for Dubai Group’s subsidiaries in various international markets. Buhumaid successfully developed and launched new brand identities for companies such as Borse Dubai, Emirates Investment Authority, as well as re-branding Dubai International Financial Exchange into NASDAQ Dubai.
Previously, Buhumaid worked with Citibank UAE as Assistant Vice President – Marketing and Business Development. At Citibank, Buhumaid launched several “first” initiatives, including the online and mobile banking services, which received several advertising recognitions.
Buhumaid is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Programme, INSEAD, UAE, and holds a Master’s Degree in Organisational Excellence with Honours from Bradford University, UK and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai.
Buhumaid is a board member at Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Dubai Women's Establishment, "Hala China" (a Dubai Holding and Meraas joint venture), and Uptown School Advisory Board. She is the Vice Chair of the Private Sector Advisory Council and a member of Dubai International Communications Committee.
Nasser Al AwadhiCHIEF HUMAN CAPITAL OFFICER
Nasser Al Awadhi is Group Chief Human Capital Officer at Dubai Holding, a major investment conglomerate based in Dubai, UAE with operations in 14 countries and employing over 20,000 people.
He oversees the implementation of Dubai Holding’s Human Capital governance framework, strategy and policies across the Group. Leadership development is at the helm of his responsibilities, which includes developing and implementing executive training programmes, succession planning and leadership incentive programme.
Al Awadhi has nearly 20 years of experience in Human Capital Management. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Al Awadhi held several senior positions, the most recent being Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Education, preceded by stints at TECOM Investments; Tamweel LLC; EPPCO; and Dubai Municipality.
Al Awadhi is a member of the board Jumeirah Group. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, USA and is a graduate of INSEAD’s International Directors Program.
Neetan ChopraCHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Neetan Chopra is the Chief Technology Officer of Dubai Holding, where he is responsible for driving digital, analytics and technology outcomes for the overall Group and co-creating new digital business models.
Neetan is a digital thought leader with long-standing experience in technology implementation, impacting the core of companies’ business models, including customer experience, operational excellence and operating culture.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Neetan was the Senior Vice President at Emirates Group, where he was responsible for the Group’s technology and innovation strategy. Neetan was instrumental in developing the digital vision of Emirates, steering the global Innovation ecosystem, creating a world-class enterprise architecture function and establishing a real-time, cognitive customer hub.
Neetan began his career at Accenture, where he delivered several IT strategy, technology and restructuring assignments as a Senior Consultant.
Neetan holds several board and advisory positions with technology companies and start-ups. He is a TEDx speaker and frequently speaks on topics such as digital transformation, emerging business models and change management.
Omar KarimCHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Omar Karim is the Chief Investment Officer of Dubai Holding, where he is responsible for driving the overall investment strategy for the Group and overseeing the execution and management of portfolio investments.
Omar has extensive experience as an adviser and principal, having worked at both international and state-owned financial institutions with specialist roles across private equity, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Omar was a Senior Vice President in Investments and Strategic Capital at Meraas, a Dubai based holding conglomerate.
He trained as an investment banker and spent the majority of his career at UBS Investment Bank, where he was responsible for the execution of a broad range of mergers, acquisitions, debt and equity financing transactions with clients across the consumer & retail, telecommunications & media and real estate sectors. Omar also covered sovereign wealth funds from the GCC providing strategic advice to assist them enter, manage and exit their international investments.
Omar holds several board positions with companies operating in the real estate, hospitality and technology sectors.
Omar received a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, with high distinction, from Monash University, Australia.
Sharjil AnwarCHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Sharjil Anwar is the newly appointed Chief Financial Officer of Dubai Holding. With over 23 years of financial management experience including corporate finance, restructuring, funding, financial and management accounting, corporate governance and management consulting, Sharjil has a proven track record in this role to oversee the overall financial functions of the Group.
Sharjil has worked in the Middle East since 1994. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, he was Group Chief Financial Officer at Nakheel PJSC, leading the Group’s overall financial management with an active role in the successful implementation of the highly complex financial restructuring and the execution of a revised business plan that placed Nakheel on a new path to growth.
In addition, he has also held senior positions at Emaar, the Economic City, Siemens Limited and Red Sea Gateway Container Terminal Limited.
