Karim has extensive experience as an adviser and principal, having worked at both international and state-owned financial institutions with specialist roles across private equity, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets.

Omar Karim is the Chief Investment Officer, where he is responsible for driving the overall investment strategy for the Group and overseeing the execution and management of portfolio investments.

Karim has extensive experience as an adviser and principal, having worked at both international and state-owned financial institutions with specialist roles across private equity, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets.

Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Karim was a Senior Vice President in Investments and Strategic Capital at Meraas Holding.

He trained as an investment banker and spent the majority of his career at UBS Investment Bank, where he was responsible for the execution of a broad range of mergers, acquisitions, debt and equity financing transactions with clients across the consumer & retail, telecommunications & media and real estate sectors. Karim also covered sovereign wealth funds from the GCC providing strategic advice to assist them enter, manage and exit their international investments.

Karim holds several board positions with companies operating in the real estate, hospitality and technology sectors.

Karim received a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance, with high distinction, from Monash University, Australia.
