Dubai Holding named Corporate Health and Wellness Organisation at 2015 Daman Corporate Health Awards
November 11, 2015- Team behind Dubai Holding Corporate Wellness Programme’s successful nine years wins “Corporate Wellness Team of the Year” award
Dubai Holding, the global investment holding company, today announced that it was recognised at the Daman Corporate Health Awards as the best employer in the UAE with proven record of accomplishment in the health and wellness sphere. The Dubai Holding Corporate Wellness Programme, the full-fledged multi-disciplinary programme running since 2007, earned the Company top awards “Corporate Health and Wellness Organisation” and “Corporate Wellness Team of the Year”.
Dubai Holding’s Corporate Wellness Programme qualified a rigorous evaluation process, surpassing nearly fifty finalists. The wellness initiatives of companies were judged across a range of criteria including staff participation and the level of staff enthusiasm. Dubai Holding’s programme stood out for being the most results-oriented and comprehensive corporate programme having delivered success stories from across the Dubai Holding entities consistently over the years. The judges acknowledged the growing number of employees participating in the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon and Dubai Holding Vertical Marathon earlier this year, as well as in last year’s Dubai Holding Women's Run.
The team, also known as the Wellness Committee, was recognised for its efforts in making Dubai Holding’s Corporate Wellness Programme increasingly successful over the last nine years. It won the award on the basis of its governance structure and the Programme’s multi-lateral involvement beginning from the top, from the Chairman, to dedicated wellness “Champions” and specialists within Dubai Holding’s portfolio companies.
Additionally, Dubai Holding was finalist in categories: “Improved Corporate Health and Wellness Performance”, “Workplace of the Year” and “Communications Campaign of the Year”.
In May 2015, Dubai Holding won the 2015 International Corporate Health & Productivity Management Award by Institute for Health and Productivity Management (IHPM) at the 15th Annual Global Health & Productivity Conference. The award, presented by the US-based non-profit global enterprise, recognised Dubai Holding as the first UAE and the second regional company for its outstanding contributions to health and wellness at the workplace and at community level.
The Programme relies on education and targeted interventions to lead employees to live healthier lifestyles by focusing on healthy nutrition, healthy nutrition, physical activity, stress management and general health. It is focused on the wellbeing of employees, and aims to address physical, emotional, environmental, social, intellectual, and occupational wellbeing.
Dubai Holding employees benefit from medical screenings, blood donations and health challenges. On a wider scale, Dubai Holding supports the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon and the fund-raiser Dubai Holding Vertical Marathon, resulting in broader reach and impact of the Programme. Dubai Holding funds AED 5 million towards obesity Research by Al Jalila Foundation, the official beneficiary of Dubai Holding’s Wellness initiatives.
