#MakeYourMark: Dubai Holding and XDubai triple down on fitness events

  • Three-year partnership to comprise three fitness events every year, including the return of the popular XYoga
  • Partnership to kick off on 10 November with the XDubai Spartan Race, presented by Dubai Holding in Hatta

Dubai Holding, the global investment holding company, and UAE-based action sports brand XDubai have announced a new partnership that will encourage people across the UAE to make their mark with a choice of three fitness events every year, for the next three years. Coinciding with the inaugural Dubai Fitness Challenge, the announcement also marks the 10th anniversary of Dubai Holding’s award-winning Wellness Programme, which is designed to promote fitness among the Group’s staff, their families and the wider community.

Commenting on the partnership, Edris Al Rafi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding, said: “Health and wellness is not just something we say, we live and breathe it at Dubai Holding. Our partnership with XDubai extends this philosophy even further, strengthening our commitment to forming fitness-focused partnerships, and sharing our belief in health and well-being to more people and in more unique ways.”

This partnership will introduce new events and activations at iconic destinations and communities across Dubai Holding’s extensive portfolio. Among the new events that UAE residents and visitors can look forward to is XYoga which, following an exceptionally successful first event in early 2016, is set to become an annual mainstay for yogis of all levels.  With details on the 2018 XYoga event to be released in due course, yogis can expect yoga as delivered by XDubai – classic poses and movement delivered in locations and in ways never seen before.

The partnership will also encourage people to push the limits of what is possible with not one, but two annual Spartan Races including the first Middle East Championship - set to take place this 10 November, for the first time in a new race location, Hatta. Upcoming Spartan Races will feature new obstacles and participant categories.

With Dubai Holding’s support, we will offer both residents and visitors at least three unique events annually and in the process, further boost Dubai’s growing wellness and fitness culture.” 

The news was marked today with the online release of an inspirational film, #MakeYourMark which celebrates the new fitness events that will take place under the partnership. This film depicts athletes in iconic Dubai Holding locations such as the Dubai Holding Headquarters, Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) and the Dubai Design District (d3), and provides a glimpse of what can be expected under the partnership. As alluded to in the film, the partnership also means that Dubai Holding and XDubai will be working together to plan new, bigger scale events and activations.
