Dubai Holding sponsors the Arab Media Forum and the Arab Journalism Award

DUBAI, 19 April 2006: Dubai Holding announced today that it will be a diamond sponsor for the Arab Media Forum and the Arab Journalism Award being held by the Dubai Press Club on 26 April, 2006.

At a press conference today, Fadel Al Ali, Chief Operations Officer of Dubai Holding said, "Our sponsorship of this prominent event reflects our belief in the huge role that media plays in social and economic development. A strong and credible media is key to the progress of a nation."

He added, "The media has a key role to play in supporting the development process and attracting investors. Dubai Holding as part of the corporate sector considers this sponsorship as part of its commitment to contribute to the development of the media in our region."

The Arab Media Forum to be held under the theme 'Arab Media Review' will explore the status of the Arab media in light of current political, economic and social developments within the region. The forum will also examine the status of the Arab media community, with special focus on difficulties and obstacles faced by them in the field and how it affects their performance.
