H.E. Mohammad Al GergawiChairman
His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi is the Chairman of Dubai Holding, Minister of Cabinet Affairs & The Future of the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates, and Chairman of The Executive Office of the Government of Dubai.
He leads the development of the UAE Federal Government Strategy and oversees its overall delivery and performance.
Mr. Al Gergawi formerly held the post of Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, which led the strategic planning and implementation of Dubai’s economic and social development.
Mr. Al Gergawi is also Founding Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders and Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, which aims to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based society in the Arab region. By focusing on education, research and culture, the Foundation supports the preparation and empowerment of a new generation of leaders to find innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
Mr. Al Gergawi has received numerous awards such as the Moroccan Royal Order of Merit by His Majesty King Mohammad VI of Morocco and the American Business Award.
Ahmad Bin ByatVice Chairman & Managing Director
Ahmad Bin Byat is one of Dubai’s most respected and successful corporate leaders, renowned for his business acumen and visionary leadership. As a senior figure in many of Dubai’s leading organisations, Mr. Bin Byat plays a key role in spearheading Dubai’s drive towards the creation of an innovation-based economy.
As well being the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dubai Holding, Mr. Bin Byat is currently also the Director General of Dubai Creative Clusters Authority and Chairman of du. He is also a member of the following bodies; the Dubai Free Zone Council, the Board of Trustees for Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government and Zayed University, the Smart Government Supreme Committee, the Supreme Committee of Dubai Smart City Project, and the Board of Museum of the Future Establishment.

Fadel Al AliChief Executive Officer
Fadel Al Ali is an accomplished business figure recognised for his expertise in corporate governance and strategic commercial roles across a range of industries including real estate, hospitality, investment and banking.
Al Ali is Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding and has been with the Group since 2005, where he previously held the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer.
Over the years, Al Ali has played a pivotal role in creating the new business model of Dubai Holding as a strategic investor. In his last role as Chief Operating Officer, Al Ali was responsible for overseeing Dubai Holding’s financial, legal and operational strategies. Al Ali led the successful financial restructuring of Dubai Holding’s investment firms. From having contributed to the development of internal functions since the early stages of Dubai Holding, he has led key development decisions for the business entities, and ensured high standard reporting.
Al Ali sits on a number of boards of leading institutions including the Board of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) and Dubai Financial Services Authority. He is currently Chairman of the Board of Dubai Properties Group, Dubai International Capital and Dubai Group.
Al Ali has a wealth of experience in the finance industry, having started his career at Citibank as a financial analyst moving through the ranks to head the UAE Consumer Credit in 2001. Three years later, Al Ali was appointed the UAE Head of Distribution, before he left for Dubai Holding.
Al Ali holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and System Engineering from University of Southern California.
Khalid Al MalikChief Business Development Officer
Khalid Al Malik is the Chief Business Development Officer at Dubai Holding, where he leads the development of strategic projects and lends expertise to key real estate projects within Dubai Holding subsidiaries.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding in 2014, Mr. Al Malik was Group Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Properties Group (DPG), where he was responsible for directing delivery, growth and operations strategies.
In the past, Al Malik held a number of Dubai Government positions including Director of Operations at the Dubai Development and Investment Authority, where he spearheaded the Dubai Government Excellence Program Committee. He has been a board member in several organisations such as Arady Developments, Empower, Emaar Bawadi and Dubai Properties Group.
Mr. Al Malik holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, with a double major in Management Information Systems and Production and Operations Management. He also has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Zayed University in the UAE. He is a graduate of the Government Leaders’ Program, a component of the Mohammed bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development.
Samer AlhajChief Financial Officer
Samer Alhaj has been the Chief Financial Officer at Dubai Holding since 2012. In this role, he contributes to leading the growth of the company, through strategically steering its performance and operational efficiencies. Among his key responsibilities are funding, budgeting & planning, and strategic investment allocation. He also leads certain projects, and sits on various Dubai Holding boards, board committees and task forces at its companies.
Alhaj combines world-class leadership skills and international business credentials with 35 years of multi-industry experience that span the GCC, Levant, North Africa, USA, UK, Europe, India, China, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia. Throughout his career, Alhaj has demonstrated keen business acumen coupled with excellent executive and financial management as well as corporate governance competencies, both in the private and the publicly-listed sectors.
Before joining Dubai Holding, Alhaj was the Chief Operating and Financial Officer of the Abu Dhabi Basic Industries Corporation, Chief Executive Officer of Waha Capital, both in Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Gulf Investment House in Kuwait.
Alhaj possesses over three decades of rich experience in multi-industry executive roles, including heavy industry, aircraft leasing, maritime support, real estate development, financial management, investment banking, private equity, and various industrial development sectors across the U.S., Europe and GCC. Of these, Alhaj has spent over 18 years in C-level and Board of Directors/Committees roles in publicly listed, private, and government organizations in London, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai. Earlier, Alhaj held leadership positions in major Wall Street investment banks such as William Blair & Company in Chicago and London, and Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, and Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup) in New York.
Alhaj is an INSEAD Certified International Director (IDP-C), and holds an MBA in Banking and Finance, an MSc in Project and Engineering Management and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the USA and UK.
Abdulrahman Al HarebChief Internal Audit Officer
Abdulrahman Al Hareb is the Chief Internal Audit Officer at Dubai Holding and is responsible for managing, planning and supervising the annual Dubai Holding Audit, overall risk assessment, and internal control structure and corporate governance evaluation. Al Hareb also oversees the auditing of all Dubai Holding companies.
In addition to his responsibilities at Dubai Holding, Al Hareb is the Chairman of Board of Gulf Finance and Chairman of Dubai AeroSpace Enterprise Audit Committee. He is also a board member of Emaar Properties, Emaar Malls and Awqaf & Minors Affairs Foundation.
Al Hareb has over twenty years of experience in audit, risk management and banking. Prior to joining Dubai Holding, Al Hareb has held various senior positions in National Bank of Dubai and Financial Audit Department – Government of Dubai. Most recently, Al Hareb has been the Chairman of Board at Oman National Investment Corporation Holding, as well as a board member of StandardAero US. In the past, Al Hareb was the Vice President - Internal Audit at Dubai Islamic Bank.
Yousuf Al MullaChief Strategy Officer
Al Mulla has been the Chief Strategy Officer at Dubai Holding since 2012. His responsibilities include supporting the company’s long-term investment strategy and overseeing the enterprise value targets. The key focus areas under his supervision include governance, leadership and strategy. Evaluating Dubai Holding’s risk appetite, portfolio management and target setting are amongst his responsibilities. He is also in charge of creating and sustaining a strategic management governance model, organisational design and strengthening related skills and competencies in the company and its companies.
Al Mulla is a senior executive specialised in corporate strategy, operations and corporate finance. He brings a wealth of experience from his entrepreneurial background and government roles and has contributed to the development of Dubai’s strategic vision.
Al Mulla was one of the founding members of TCO Management Consulting, the management consulting company initiated by the Dubai government and previously known as the Consulting Office. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2010, following his position as Head of Strategy, Business Development and Alliances. He also advised senior leadership in the Dubai government and the UAE federal government on high-level strategic projects.
In his former capacity as Associate Project Manager of the Government Innovation and Development Unit at the Executive Office, from 2006 to 2007, Al Mulla was in charge of developing and implementing efficiency programmes across a wide range of government departments, as well as setting an educational endowment fund. Additionally, he had a significant contribution to the development of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, and the establishment of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. His other achievements at the Executive Office included advising the Minor Affairs Foundation on their investment policy.
Al Mulla’s previous experience included his advisory and operational role with Dubai Autodrome to setup the business and organise the 1st international track motor race in Dubai, from 2004 to 2006. He also worked with his family to setup and manage Mayfair Hotels Management from 2003 to 2005.
Al Mulla holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD, Masters in Public Administration from Lee Kuan School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and a BSc in Business Administration with concentration in Corporate Finance from Marshall Business School at University of Southern California.
Gerald LawlessHead of Tourism and Hospitality
Gerald Lawless joined Dubai Holding in 2016, having served for 18 years at the helm of the Jumeirah Group, assuming a new leadership position responsible for tourism and hospitality in Dubai Holding. At Dubai Holding, Lawless advises Dubai Holding on strategic tourism and hospitality projects within the Dubai Holding portfolio.
Lawless joined Dubai Holding from Jumeirah Group, where he built the company into one of the world’s best-known luxury hospitality brands and led the drive to establish Burj Al Arab Jumeirah as the world’s most luxurious hotel and a symbol of Dubai as a luxury destination. Lawless spearheaded the expansion of the Company’s portfolio, which now includes 22 hotels in 10 destinations and over 100 restaurants from London to Shanghai.
Before joining Jumeirah Group in 1997, Lawless held a 23-year long career with Forte Hotels.
He is Chairman of the World Travel and Tourism Council; a member of the Global Agenda Council for the Future of Travel and Tourism of the World Economic Forum; a fellow member of the Institute of Hospitality; a member of the International Advisory Board of the Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne; the Chancellor of the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and Honourary President of the Jumeirah Group.
Lawless is a Graduate of Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland and holds an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management by the Johnson & Wales University, State of Rhode Island in the US, and an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws by the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Morgan ParkerChief Operating Officer, Jumeirah Central
Morgan Parker joined Dubai Holding in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer for Jumeirah Central.
Jumeirah Central is envisioned as a city centre – home to the city’s most sought-after real estate, its best shopping, apartments, office buildings, entertainment, and a global tourist destination that will further Dubai’s reputation as one of the most exciting cities in the world.
Parker oversees all aspects of the US$20 billion Jumeirah Central, and leads a world-class multi-disciplinary team of colleagues and consultants responsible for planning, development, capital partnerships, marketing and financial analysis of this 47 million sf city district.
Parker joined Dubai Holding from the Rockefeller-owned private equity firm - Rose Rock, where he served as CEO. His senior executive experience in Asia-Pacific at Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank and Lend Lease spans more than two decades acting as a developer, investor and banker. Parker has completed 65 projects in nine countries.
Parker’s versatility and wealth of experience has led him to hold a number of board positions globally since 2005. He is widely recognised as an industry thought-leader.
Morgan Parker holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Law from Bond University in Australia, and an Executive Management certificate from IMD Business School in Switzerland.
Huda BuhumaidChief Marketing Officer
Huda Buhumaid joined Dubai Holding in 2009 as Head of Communications. She was appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer in 2016 and is responsible for the conglomerate’s Branding, Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Relations.
Over the last few year, Buhumaid has successfully launched and several strategic projects both at the Corporate and portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Dubai Holding Corporate Office, Buhumaid was Managing Director – Marketing & Communications, Dubai Group. She oversaw the marketing and communications strategies for Dubai Group subsidiaries in various international markets. Buhumaid successfully developed and launched new brand identities for companies such as Borse Dubai, Emirates Investment Authority, as well as re-branding Dubai International Financial Exchange into NASDAQ Dubai.
Previously, Buhumaid worked with Citibank UAE quickly moving the ranks from Marketing Manager – Credit Cards to Assistant Vice President – Marketing and Business Development. At Citibank, Buhumaid launched several “first” initiatives, including the internet and mobile banking service, which received several advertising recognitions.
Buhumaid is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Programme, INSEAD, UAE, holds a master’s degree in Organisational Excellence with Honours from Bradford University, UK and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai.
Gerard HobbyChief Legal Officer
Gerard Hobby holds the position of Chief Legal Officer at Dubai Holding and has occupied this role since the inception of the Group in 2004. Dubai Holding is a global investment holding company based in Dubai, UAE with interests in 24 countries, employing over 22,000 people.
Hobby has over 24 years of experience in public and private legal practice. These include senior corporate and commercial capacities in Dubai-based law firms, as well as in-house counselling to the Ministry of Finance in Bahrain.
Furthermore, Hobby is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales. Currently, he sits as Chairman of Dubai Holding’s Executive Human Capital Committee (EHCC).
Gerard holds both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canterbury, and a Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD Business School.
