Registrations open for Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim, the only chance to swim around iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah

Registrations have opened for the Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim that is set to take place under the shadow of the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah on March 31, 2017. Up to 700 swimmers are expected to participate in the 13th edition of the event in the 1,600 meters and 800 metres race categories in the pristine waters of the Arabian Gulf.

An official event of Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim is open to participants aged 16 years and above with all fitness levels and proficiencies. Marking the UAE’s 2017 Year of Giving, Dubai Holding has also pledged that all funds raised at the event will be donated to the Obesity Research Fund of Al Jalila Foundation, Dubai Holding’s longstanding Wellness partner.

Commenting on this year’s event, Cedric Betis, Chairman of Dubai Holding Wellness Committee, said: “Burj Al Arab Jumeirah is a prestigious landmark and a global icon for Dubai. He added: “2017 marks the 10th anniversary of Dubai Holding Corporate Wellness Programme, the region’s first-of-its-kind programme. Since its establishment, we have steadily grown the Programme from overseeing Executive wellbeing to initiatives for Dubai Holding staff, family members and the wider community. We have enhanced our bouquet of offering that now includes road running, vertical running, obstacle races, open water swimming, health and nutrition advisory among others.”

The swim is a key element of the Dubai Holding Corporate Wellness Programme, a multi-disciplinary programme that has been a recipient of various local awards and recognitions.

In addition to Burj Al Arab Swim, Dubai Holding has sponsored and supported a series of activities. Earlier this month, Dubai Holding kicked off the 2017 World Vertical Circuit with its flagship Dubai Holding SkyRun held at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Last month, Dubai Holding concluded Sandstorm - the first-ever home-grown obstacle race in the UAE, where nearly 3,000 participants were led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. In January, Dubai Holding fielded 3,400 employees as the largest corporate team in Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon.

The Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab swim is organised by Wild Wadi Waterpark and Talise Fitness in partnership with Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.
