Dubai Properties Group to Unite Over 17,000 Stakeholders in Support of Earth Hour 2010

DPG Communities to Switch off Lights to Raise Awareness of Global Warming

Dubai: 23 March, 2010 – Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, today announced it will call on over 17,000 stakeholders including customers, residents, retailers, suppliers and contractors to participate in Earth Hour 2010, marking the company’s second consecutive year of participation in the vital global initiative.

On Saturday 27 March, hundreds of millions of people around the world will come together to call for action on climate change by turning off their lights for one hour and among them will be conscientious residents of  DPG communities. 

DPG has informed and engaged its stakeholders throughout Dubai to participate in 60 minutes of darkness in support of Earth Hour 2010.  In addition, DPG’s headquarters in Dubai Knowledge Village will turn off its lights from 8:30pm - 9:30 pm. while the iconic destination The Walk @ Jumeirah Beach Residence will dim
all 326 street lights as a sign of its commitment to the environment.

In 2009, Earth Hour witnessed the participation of nearly one billion people across 4,100 cities in 87 countries.  In 2010 DPG and its stakeholders will join the fight against global warming.
