Dubai Studio City to Host Semi-Final Round of International Emmy Awards
29 June, 2010 - Dubai Studio City (DSC), the dedicated film and broadcast production free zone and a member of TECOM Investments Media Cluster, today announced it will host semi-final judging sessions for the International Emmy Awards, in collaboration with The Frame, a Dubai Studio City-based film production company.
The judging sessions will be held at Dubai Studio City on behalf of the world-renowned International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences from 30 June – 1 July. The jury panel will comprise distinguished media professionals who are independent and specialists in the type of programme they are evaluating.
The International Emmy Awards are divided into 15 categories and given in recognition of international programmes produced and initially broadcast outside of the United States.

Apart from promoting further content creation in the region and the UAE, the second round of judging for the Emmy Awards will result in more regional content reaching the international market.
The semi-final judging sessions celebrate the TV and media industry and send the leading examples of our high production standards and values on to the next stage of the International Emmy Awards.

The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences was founded in 1969. It is a membership based organisation with over 600 members from over 50 countries who represent all sectors of the television industry including mobile, internet and technology.
Spread over an area of 22 million sq ft, Dubai Studio City features 18 boutique studios, a 3.5 million sq ft back lot for outdoor shooting, commercial offices, pre-built studios, a business centre and post-production studios. The development includes three sound stages – one 15,000 sq ft unit and two units of 25,000 sq ft each.
