Dubai International Academic City Highlights Dubai’s Status as Education Hub at NAFSA 2010 in US
15 June, 2010 – Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), the region’s leading destination for international higher education and a member of TECOM Investments’ Education Cluster, today announced it effectively highlighted the remarkable success of international branch campuses, in Dubai, at the 62nd NAFSA conference in Kansas City, US.
NAFSA's 2010 Annual Conference and Expo brought together over 7,600 education and international faculty members, service providers, and others for five packed days of training workshops, educational sessions, networking opportunities, and special events. As a global partner of NAFSA, Dubai International Academic City participated in the event.
Hasan Makansi, Director of Partner Development, Education Cluster – TECOM Investments, delivered a speech at the plenary session. He also offered a presentation on ‘Student Recruitment Challenges, Opportunities and Success for International Branch Campuses in Dubai’ at the event. The presentation focused on the current situation for higher education in Dubai and the region and showcased opportunities for current and new universities that may want to expand and serve the region with a base in Dubai.
