Dubai Healthcare City Wins CSR Summit Award for Employee Engagement
‘Best Workplace Practice’ Award Marks Effectiveness of Internal Al Ruwad Programme
Dubai: 21 October, 2009 - Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), the world’s first healthcare free zone and a member of TECOM Investments, today announced it received the ‘Best Workplace Practice’ Award at the Sixth Corporate Social Responsibility Summit Awards in recognition of its employee engagement initiatives.
Held under the patronage of Her Excellency Mariam Mohammad Khalfan Al Roomi, UAE Minister of Social Affairs and Chairman of Social Responsibility Fund, the CSR Summit Awards seek to recognise and honour companies in the GCC region for outstanding, innovative and world class products, services, projects and programmes implemented during 2008-09.
The jury of four independent CSR experts for the Best Workplace Practice Award were looking for an organisation that has demonstrated the most positive impact on the workplace and mobilised effective engagement with its stakeholders.
Dubai Healthcare City’s Al Ruwad programme was selected for its commitment to employee engagement, motivation and recognition. The award also recognises DHCC’s leadership and ongoing commitment to nurturing a culture that respects and values its employees.

The contenders included Procter & Gamble, Dubai Islamic Bank, Saudi German Hospital, TECOM Investments, du, THE One, Etisalat Misr, Agility Logistics, Dow Chemical, Dana Gas, Al Fahim Group, Al Fozan, Etisalat, Emirates NBD, Al Baik Food Systems, Al Ahli Group, BAPCO, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Savola Group, Majid Al Futtaim Properties, DLA Piper, and the National Commercial Bank.
The CSR awards follow other honours DHCC has continuously received in various categories since its inception. In April 2009, Dubai Healthcare City received the prestigious Dubai Quality Award for its implementation of global best practices across nine core areas of operation.
