As Chief Financial Officer, Samer Alhaj contributes to leading the growth of Dubai Holding through strategically steering its performance and operational efficiencies.

Samer Alhaj has been the Chief Financial Officer at Dubai Holding since 2012. In this role, he contributes to leading the growth of the company, through strategically steering its performance and operational efficiencies. Among his key responsibilities are funding, budgeting & planning, and strategic investment allocation.
He also leads certain projects, and sits on various Dubai Holding boards, board committees and task forces at its companies.

Alhaj combines world-class leadership skills and international business credentials with 34 years of multi-industry experience that span the USA, Europe and the GCC. Throughout his career, Alhaj has demonstrated keen business acumen coupled with excellent executive and financial management as well as corporate governance competencies, both in the private and the publicly-listed sectors.

Before joining Dubai Holding, Alhaj was the Chief Operating Officer of the Abu Dhabi Basic Industries Corporation .

Previously, Alhaj held the role of Chief Executive Officer of Waha Capital; Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Gulf Investment House among other senior roles..
He has extensive knowledge of, and exposure to, business operations in the GCC, Levant, North Africa, USA, UK, Europe, India, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Central and South America.

Alhaj holds an MBA specialising in Banking and Finance, an MSc in Project and Engineering Management and a BSc in Civil Engineering from the USA and UK.
