Media

Dubai Holding has played an instrumental role in the development of Dubai’s dynamic media industry, and it continues to innovate and grow one of the most established business sectors in the emirate.

Through our leading business districts managed by Dubai Holding Asset Management; namely, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Production City, we have been at the forefront of promoting the status of the emirate as a leading global media destination, creating an extensive platform and infrastructure for media companies of all sizes to thrive.

Dubai Media City

Since the inception of Dubai Media City in 2001, the media industry in the emirate has gone from strength to strength, and Dubai is now a leading global hub for media and production. It is a world-class community that has created a media ecosystem with over 3,000 companies and 34,000 professionals across Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Production City. It is home to regional and international media companies, such as major international news agencies CNN and the BBC, as well as marketing and communications conglomerates Leo Burnett Worldwide and Omnicom Media Group.

Dubai Studio City

Following a surge in demand from media companies to set up in Dubai after the establishment of Dubai Media City, particularly production companies, Dubai Studio City was inaugurated in 2005. Dubai Studio City is home to broadcasting, film production, television, music and entertainment companies.

Its cutting-edge infrastructure and production facilities include the Middle East and North Africa’s largest sound stages, in addition to green screens, indoor water tanks and recording studios that are regionally unrivalled. This has attracted major international

productions such as Master Chef Arabia, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Star Trek Beyond to Dubai.

Dubai Production City

Branching out to accommodate printing, packaging and publishing sectors, Dubai Production City was established in 2007. It has supported the growth of the media ecosystem in the emirate by providing dedicated industry-specific infrastructure as well as an extraordinary platform for the implementation of new technologies such as 3D printing.

Constantly growing and evolving the media industry, Dubai Holding launched the in5 media innovation centre in Dubai Production City in 2017 as an integral part of a strategy to nurture entrepreneurs and startups within the media sector.
