Dubai Holding to showcase landmark projects at Cityscape Global 2014

  • Master plan for Dubai Design District to be revealed

Dubai Holding, the global investment holding company, today announced its participation for the first time in the most-anticipated property and real estate event of the year, Cityscape Global 2014. The event will begin on 21 September and run for three days at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Joining Dubai Holding in its pavilion are two of its companies; Dubai Properties (DP), its real estate development arm; and, TECOM Investments, the real estate master developer and operator of Dubai’s leading business parks, together they will showcase a range of tourism destinations, residential communities and business districts that contribute to the growth of Dubai’s non-oil sectors.

Ahmad Bin Byat, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding, said: “This is the first time that Dubai Holding has a consolidated presence with its companies at Cityscape Global, demonstrating the scale of projects underway and our contribution to the development of Dubai’s economic diversification strategy. Most recently, we announced the launch of Mall of the World, set to become the largest temperature-controlled pedestrian city with mixed-use components in the world. This development, along with other projects announced by Dubai Properties and TECOM Investments aim to meet the aspirations of Dubai Vision 2020 and strengthen the Emirate’s positioning as a global hub for investment, tourism and business.”

Dubai Holding’s 600 sq. m. pavilion at Cityscape is located in Hall 7 in Dubai World Trade Centre, and will feature an array of flagship projects led by Mall of the World, Dubai Properties’ diversified portfolio including new projects in Cultural Village and Burj Khalifa District, and existing projects in DUBAILAND, as well as TECOM Investments’ Dubai Design District (D3) and Villa Lantana. During the conference, Dubai Holding will share progress and updates on several projects displayed at its pavilion.

Below is an overview of the key projects on display at the Dubai Holding stand in Cityscape Global 2014:

Mall of the World
Mall of the World, which will be located along Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, occupies a total area of 48 million sq. ft., the project will comprise the largest indoor theme park in the world, which will be covered by a glass dome that will be open during the winter months. It will also house the largest shopping mall in the world with an area of 8 million sq. ft., which will take the form of an extended retail street network, different to the typical shopping mall concept currently available in Dubai. Additional districts within the project will include a wellness dedicated zone catering to medical tourists, a cultural celebration district as well as a wide range of hospitality options comprising 20,000 hotel rooms catering to all types of tourists. Once completed, the city-within-a-city is projected to become a year-round destination, welcoming around 180 million visitors annually.

Culture Village
Capturing the strong heritage and cultural diversity of Dubai, Culture Village is a DPG master development and will be the city’s first creek-side destination with residential, commercial, retail, entertainment and cultural components.
Dubai Properties’ (DP) Manazel Al Khor is a luxury residential development overlooking the historic Dubai Creek in Culture Village and celebrates the heritage of Dubai, providing an access point to one of the city’s most significant landmarks. Staying true to the traditional Arabic theme of Culture Village, Manazel Al Khor features Emirati influenced architecture elements married with contemporary design.
Dubai Properties (DP) will launch a mixed-use project in Culture Village at Cityscape Global from its strong future pipeline of hospitality, residential and mixed-use developments for the district.
