Dubai Holding participates in EFQM Excellence Forum

DUBAI, 12 December 2006: A Dubai Holding delegation held discussions with quality officials of some of the world's leading companies at the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Forum held recently in Budapest.

The delegation included Abdelatif Hegazy, Director, Quality for TECOM Investments, Khaled Khattab, Director, Business Excellence Programs for Dubai Holding and Ayesha Albalooshi, Senior Quality Assurance Specialist from Dubai Properties.

The EFQM Excellence Forum is an annual forum organised by EFQM, the creator of the EFQM Excellence Model, a strategic management framework for benchmarking and improving quality. The forum brings together business organisations across Europe to discuss key quality and excellence issues affecting them.

Shawqi Sajwani, Group Director, Business Excellence at Dubai Holding, said that the participation was part of Dubai Holding's efforts to keep itself abreast of the latest global best-practices in quality management. "Our participation was a strategic move aimed at exploring and sharing the latest global knowledge on organizational excellence, which will help us to enhance our own quality management systems," he said.

The Dubai Holding team also attended the EFQM Excellence Award, Europe's most prestigious award for organisational excellence. Representatives from 45 countries witnessed the presentation of the Award to four organisations.

EFQM, a not-for-profit membership foundation, is the primary business excellence network in Europe for organisations looking to excel in their market and their business.

Founded in 1989 by CEOs of prominent European businesses, EFQM is now the hub of globally-minded organisations of all sizes and sectors, in both the private and public domain.
