Al Gergawi is the first personality from the Gulf region to co-chair the India Economic Summit and has been chosen because of his active role as the Executive Chairman of Dubai Holding and his efforts in expanding the group's operations and establishing its projects around the world; besides his role as the head of DDIA which works on catalyzing the economic and investment climate of UAE and Dubai in particular.

Al Gergawi said that it is an honour to be nominated to participate in such an important Summit in India. He said that the emergence of India as a global economic power has become a compelling story worldwide.
