Accessibility
We are committed to ensuring that the Dubai Holding website is accessible to as many people as possible. We conform to level 'AA' of accessibility guidelines.
Moving around the Dubai Holding website
There is a navigation bar at the top of each page, showing each main section of the site with dropdown menus of their contents. At the bottom of each page there are permanent links to the sitemap, our contact details, our privacy policy, and the website conditions of use.
Page layout
In most content pages, to the left you will find extras related to current content: quick links to other relevant sections or websites, and downloadable information. To the right of each page there are links to our news and media centre and areas for specific audiences.
One exception is the homepage, which has a different format: the top area is a panel showing different aspects of the Dubai Holding story, while the lower area has three highlight boxes and three further links, all of which guide you to different sections of the site. There is also a news area.
Knowing where you are
As you begin to explore our website, you will see a trail build up above the Quick Links area:
This “breadcrumb trail” shows you exactly where you are within the site and lets you retrace your steps back up to higher levels.
Features
We have provided some extra functions to make it easier for our visitors to find and use the information on this site.
Search
You will also find the search field at the top right of the page. From here you can carry out a site wide search in order to find articles and information important to you.
Text size
At the top of the page, we offer the ability to change the size of the written content using the following icons:
If you prefer, you should also be able to change the font size through your browser. This setting is found in the 'View' menu of most browsers.
Print
Each page is created to print easily. You can send pages to your printer using your browser settings. In most browsers these controls can be found under the File menu, with options to preview how the printed page will look or print immediately.
Accessibility standards
Our content conforms to level 'AA' of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. Any new sections or content will be tested for conformance to these guidelines.
Images
All our images have been labelled with 'alt text'. These indicate the content of photographic and graphical images for browsers that do not display them visually.
Non-W3C formats
These formats, such as Flash movies, PDFs and multimedia, will only be used where they are the only suitable medium for conveying information. Where these formats are used we will make a reasonable effort to offer accessible equivalents.
Keyboard access
Most browsers let you skip from link to link using the TAB key. The current link will be highlighted in various ways depending on your browser. To move backwards, hold down SHIFT and press TAB.
Access Keys
Access Keys are keyboard shortcuts to common pages on a website. This website does not use them as evidence suggests they interfere with the keyboard controls of many browsers and screen readers.
