HE Mohammad AlGergawi
As Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the Federal Government of the United Arab Emirates, HE Mohammad AlGergawi leads the development of the UAE Federal Government strategy and oversees overall delivery and performance improvement.
AlGergawi led and supervised the implementation of several initiatives and projects including:
- Dubai Internet City
- Dubai Media City
- Dubai Shopping Festival
- Dubai International Financial Centre
- Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership Development Programme
He led the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, which achieved a significant improvement in the government and positioned it as a regional benchmark for quality. He also launched the Dubai Quality Award, promoting excellence in Dubai’s organisations.
AlGergawi is the Founding Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders, a pan-Arab NGO and network that aims to improve the state of the region by focusing on its youth. He is also the Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, which has an endowment of $US 10 billion. The foundation contributes to developing a knowledge-based society in the Arab and Muslim world by focusing on education, research and culture. It also nurtures future leaders and empowers youth to find innovative solutions to regional challenges.
Previously, he was Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai. This is the Dubai Government Cabinet that leads the strategic planning and implementation of Dubai's economic and social development. He also held the posts of the Chairman of the Dubai Development & Investment Authority, and the Managing Director of the Dubai Media Incorporated.
He is recognised for a number of social and cultural contributions. He was a founding member of the Dubai Autism Centre and the UAE Disabled Sports Federation. He was also Vice Chairman of the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.
AlGergawi has received numerous honours and recognition in the UAE and the wider region, including the Moroccan Royal Order of Merit (from His Majesty King Mohammad VI of Morocco) and the American Business Award, from the American Business Council in Dubai.
He was educated in the US, and is married with three children.
